Lifelong Learner

The Last/Next Time
Teaching blog shorts to get you thinking.

The Last Time
When was the last time you learned with your students?
Reflect on recent units of the school year. When did you allow yourself to be a learner with your class? When was a time when you researched alongside students, analyzed information, explored, critiqued, reflected, and/or created?

The Next Time
Take advantage of the next time you can say, “I don’t know!”
Teachers don’t have all the answers. Students expect a lot from educators, but they also want to know that we are human and in search of more information ourselves. Being a lifelong learner can be taught by example. Have questions; seek out answers. Be willing to remain open to new ideas and information. Exhibit wonder yourself, and feel the positive class environment it helps create.
