The Body Is Not an Apology
Celebrate Your Body
What does the notion of radical self-love entail? How can we overcome body terrorism?
In our next installment of the Expert Insight summer series, Scott interviews Sonya Renee Taylor, author, spoken word poet, social justice activist, and founder of the The Body Is Not an Apology website and related media.
Sonya works against discrimination, social inequality, and injustice to help us make peace with the body, our own and that of others. Her mission is global, radical, unapologetic self-love and a more just, equitable, and compassionate world.
Sonya is also the author of “Celebrate Your Body,” which is a resource for young girls growing through puberty, and the companion to Scott’s own book, out this summer, geared towards boys entitled, “Growing Up Great!”
