When was the last time you used music while teaching?

Reflect on the past few weeks of the school year. When did you last utilize music in the classroom? Do you play songs during class activities? Project work? Journaling? While students enter the room?

The Next Time
Take advantage of the next time you can put some tunes on.

Plug a little pop music into lessons. Maybe it's instrumental during think time? How about a fitting song for a special day or that perfect song to connect to a lesson? No matter what your content area, be willing to turn up the volume in order to spark neurons, evoke emotion, or have some fun during transitions or downtime.
