Lifelong Learner
The Last Time
When was the last time you learned with your students?
Reflect on recent units of the school year. When did you allow yourself to be a learner withyour class? When was a time when you researched alongside students, analyzed information, explored, critiqued, reflected, and/or created?
The Next Time
Take advantage of the next time you can say, "I don't know!"
Teachers don't have all the answers. Students expect a lot from educators, but they also want to know that we are human and in search of more information ourselves. Being a lifelong learner can be taught by example. Have questions; seek out answers. Be willing to remain open to new ideas and information. Exhibit wonder yourself, and feel the positive class environment it helps create.
